What You Will Do
Reporting to the Senior Planner Scheduler, and under the general direction of the Project Controls Lead (in a matrix reporting structure) the Project Scheduler is assigned to a project management team and is responsible for providing project management support by establishing, monitoring and updating multiple project schedules, through the planning, design, procurement, construction and testing/commissioning phases. The incumbent must exercise problem solving and analytical abilities in order to effectively manage and interpret scheduling and cost information from a variety of sources, and to help elevate the project group knowledge and awareness on best practices on project management information system usage.
You will participate in the implementation, as well as the ongoing business improvement of the project management system for ECE projects; collaborate with the Senior Planner and Scheduler to ensure the integration of PMO tools and systems, as related to planning and scheduling; implement scheduling aspects of a coordinated project control system by using a defined Work Breakdown Structure and Organization Breakdown Structure in the ECE scheduling and cost control systems; baseline program and project plans to identify, develop, and implement benchmarking data, for the measurement and analysis of variances and root causes; develop and maintain the Master Project Schedule; planning, coordinating, and monitoring scheduling activities (both performance to date and planned schedule activities); attend design and construction review meetings and contributing to the design and construction process, including timing, sequencing and staging of construct; attend the planning workshops with different stakeholders in order to develop different levels of design and construction schedules in the early stage of the projects and internal and external integration and interface meetings in order to manage the projects effectively; and perform critical path/what-if/variance analysis and earned value management.
You will also report schedule variances and recommending corrective action; implement project interface management through schedule updates and reporting; develop, maintain and evaluate the pre-construction schedule and supporting project management/construction team to review schedule submittals including Contract Baseline Schedule (CBS), Monthly Updated Schedule (MUS), Recovery Schedule, and Count-down Schedule; support the preparation of Group and Department reports; provide input to project controls plans (schedule management section) and providing input to program controls plans if required under the leadership of Senior Planner & Scheduler, Project Controls Lead or Manager – Project Controls; provide input to project controls sections of the dashboards and executive reports; communicate with project management team and other staff, to ensure adherence to planning and scheduling policies, procedures, and guidelines and provide the Time Impact Analysis services for assigned projects.
