The opportunity

Reporting to the Department Manager, Prototype Development, we are looking for a Production Planner to join us for a 12-month maternity leave contract. You will be responsible for end-to-end production planning within the Product Development Department. Your role will include scheduling, capacity planning, and workflow optimization to ensure projects are delivered on time and in full.

What's in it for you

Innovation, impact, and influence. You will work on cutting-edge product development and prototyping in an environment where creativity and precision come together to shape high-quality retail displays. This is a chance to play a key role in optimizing workflows and improving efficiency.

Professional development. From day one, you will be supported and trained on Array’s processes, gaining exposure to our production pipelines and collaborating across multiple front-end teams. This is an opportunity to develop your skills in scheduling, capacity planning, and data-driven decision-making, working closely with experts across departments to deliver industry-leading solutions.

You will focus on:

  • Scheduling. You will develop a production schedule in daily and weekly increments for all Machine Operators, CNC Programmers, Model Makers, and Sign-Off Coordinators. You will establish a set sequence and appropriate lead time based on operational insights and project due dates. You will provide a prototyping schedule to the team to initiate planning activities.
  • Achieving labour needs. You will assess departmental capacity, analyze estimated hours, and perform calculations to determine labour requirements. Using data-driven insights, you will recommend workforce adjustments for Department Manager approval. You will track operation times, ensuring accuracy by comparing requested work to estimates and preventing overlaps or omissions.
  • Monitoring and updating. You will participate in daily and weekly status meetings with Commercial Teams and Production Project Managers to ensure on-time project completion. You will initiate action with the Shop Lead and Department Manager to resolve quality and productivity issues that may impact delivery timelines. You will track key project milestones, analyze deviations, and implement recovery plans to maintain efficiency.

You have:

  • The experience. You have worked in a large-volume manufacturing environment, scheduling jobs and resources for multiple departments. You have experience calculating the time needed based on insightful needs analysis of the scope of work and workforce capacity.
  • The technical skills. You can read and interpret documents such as drawings, design briefs, and spreadsheets. You are proficient with Microsoft Office Suite, and using a database tool to analyze and report on large volumes of data. You can learn new technologies, including Business Intelligence tools, SolidWorks, and proprietary software.
  • The solution-oriented approach. You are innovative and logical and can exercise sound judgment and problem-solving skills. You are process-oriented, deadline-driven, and highly attentive to detail.
  • The interpersonal skills. You have professional communication skills, including composing correspondence, interacting by telephone or in person, and writing reports. You can build relationships and work with stakeholders, senior management, and across teams, sharing knowledge and offering support whenever and wherever needed.

What you can expect from the interview process:

  • A virtual interview with a Talent Advisor discussing your interest in the role, the team’s culture and how you will make an impact.
  • A virtual interview with the Manager of Planning to discuss your experience in production planning.
  • A final in-person interview and plant tour with the Manager of Planning. This will be an opportunity to ask any final questions about the role, team and culture.
