Who we need

Reporting to the Head of Technology, R-LABS is looking for a talented and passionate Web Developer/UX Designer. You will be responsible for the design and workflows of the user experience and the user interface related to the product and platforms built by R-LABS and our early stage ventures. You will engage with our marketing and venture teams to collect, research, investigate, and evaluate requirements to create the optimal user experience for their platforms and products. 

This is an in-office position based in downtown Toronto.

Who you are

You may be a Web Developer with a strong grasp of UX Design principles or a UX Designer skilled in website development. Either way, you are both a strategist and a creator, eager to expand your expertise across the entire product and website development process. With an entrepreneurial mindset, you are excited to contribute to growing businesses from the ground up, playing a pivotal role in turning ideas into reality. Whether your background is in real estate or agency work, you are passionate about our mission, and thrive in a dynamic startup environment. You can structure content, layouts, and user flows that resonate with stakeholders ranging from consumers, professionals, enterprise and government.

What you will do:

• Lead. You will work with the marketing team, venture team, and co-founders to understand business goals and objectives. You will dig deeper to gain insights into their business vision, value propositions of their offering, and the nuances that bring it all together. You will manage the design process from planning to final execution, including creating, maintaining and delivering current and future landing pages, websites, presentations and artifacts. 
• Create. You will conceive, design and develop captivating interface designs that are thoughtful and engaging. You will communicate design concepts by creating user personas, user journey maps, wireframes, mockups and other UX frameworks. You will translate business vision into words and visual design by developing delightful splash pages, landing pages and websites. You will craft engaging copy and content for various formats tailored to the target audience and business goals and adhere to established brand guidelines.
• Iterate. You will conduct user research and usability testing to generate meaningful feedback that will drive creative concepts, inform design decisions and influence iterations. You will collaborate with the founder to incorporate testing results into the narrative of their vision. You will advocate for the end-user, communicating the psychology of users and the approach to creating a compelling user experience along every step of the user journey.
• Drive continuous improvement. You will seek out the latest trends, tools, and methodologies to ensure we are exceeding the expectations of our venture partners and investors. You will educate the team on UX and web design principles and best practices.
